MADAME DESCOMBES VISITS HER HUSBAND'S TOMB
By CarlosGayoso

Mme. Descombes, the wife of a famous restaurateur and owner of the "Louis XIV" in Paris, was involved in the murder of her husband. Madame Descombes, had told local media of her intention to visit her husband's grave once she was released from prison. The head of the photo service at France-Soir contacted me to tell me that he had sent a staff photographer to cover this event and that the results were negative. He also asked me if I could try to introduce myself at the cemetery and take some pictures during Madame Descombes' visit there.

Indeed, I accepted the challenge. I went to the cemetery but the guard noticed that I had a camera discreetly hidden under my jacket, and he indicated to me not to try to take any pictures in the cemetery because it is a public place and that it is prohibited. Despite this, I managed to find out the location of Mr. Descombes's tomb and after having spotted the buildings which were next to the cemetery, I left. In addition to this, you need to know some more facts too.

A few minutes later I managed to return to a second building discreetly. For about twenty minutes I waited and I was able to take my first pictures showing Madame Descombes entering the cemetery in the company of a person and the guard. I quickly withdrew from the first building and after entering the second building that I had previously spotted, I managed to take a second series of photos of Madame Descombes, prostrate on her husband's grave.

On my return from the newspaper, the editorial staff congratulated me on the success of the mission and my photos were published exclusively in the "Une" of France-Soir.
